Noble Silence

​

All participates must observe Noble Silence from the beginning of the course until the morning of the last day. Noble Silence means silence of body, speech, and mind. Any form of communication with anyone, whether by gestures, sign language, written notes, etc., is prohibited.

Participate may, however, speak with the host whenever necessary and they may approach the host with any problems related to food, accommodation, health, etc. But even these contacts should be kept to a minimum. Participates should cultivate the feeling that they are working in isolation.

SATURDAY

  • 5:30 Morning wake-up

  • 6:00-7:00 Individual Meditation & Morning Chanting

  • 7:00-8: 00 Breakfast break

  • 8:00-9:00 One-hour Group Sitting 

  • 9:00-11:00 Vipassana Meditation

  • 11:00-13:00 Lunch Break

  • 13:00-14:15 Individual Meditation (Vipassana )

  • 14:30 -15:30 One-hour Group Sitting 

  • 15:30-17:00 Vipassana Meditation

  • 17:00-18:00 Tea break

  • 18:00-19:00 One-hour Group Sitting (Determined sitting)

  • 19:10-20:00 Evening discourse

  • 20:15-21:00 Individual Meditation (Vipassana)

  • 21:00  Take rest

SUNDAY

  • 5:30 Morning wake-up

  • 6:00-7:00 Vipassana meditation with Metta & Morning Chanting

  • 7:00-8: 00 Breakfast break

  • 8:00-9:00 One-hour Group Sitting with Metta (Determined sitting)

  • 10:00-11:00 Discourse

  • 12:00 Check-out

Fees

All accommodation options include:​

  • 2 breakfast and 1 lunch with eggs excluded- vegetarian meals prepared by our host. There will be no dinner served but tea and snack.

  • Two nights accommodation at our retreat house.

  • Yoga mats and props are provided.

All-inclusive program fees for three days and two nights vary by level of accommodation (There is limited availability for each of these options. Reservations will be accepted as they are confirmed by guests on a first-come, first-served basis):

​

- Double occupancy, Queen room with shared bathroom, US $90 per participant.

- Single occupancy, Queen room with shared bathroom, US $140.

- Single occupancy, Suite with private bathroom, US $150.

Roommates: All our rooms are with double beds, double occupancy means to share one double bed. 

The Precepts

All who attend a Silent Meditation (Vipassana) Retreat must conscientiously undertake the following five precepts for the duration of the course:

  1. to abstain from killing any being;

  2. to abstain from stealing;

  3. to abstain from all sexual activity;

  4. to abstain from telling lies;

  5. to abstain from all intoxicants.

There are three additional precepts that are expected to follow during the course:

  1. to abstain from eating after midday;

  2. to abstain from sensual entertainment and bodily decorations;

  3. to abstain from using high or luxurious beds.
