According to ancient yogis, at any given moment one of your nostrils is more open and the other is more blocked. When the air flows more through the left nostril, the prana (energy) flows predominantly through ida nadi. The Sanskrit word nadi derives from the root nad, which means “flow,” “motion,” or “vibration.” Ida is regarded as the lunar nadi, cool and nurturing by nature, and is said to control all mental processes and the more feminine aspects of our personality. Although the pranic flow atomically switches throughout the day you can manipulate breath to flow in a way that is most beneficial for your current situation.
Feel excited and a bit stressed about the plan ahead? The Lunar Breath is very effective against feelings of stress. Pay attention to the feelings whatever you have from today and embrace them as they are.
