Day 15 Full Moon

It’s Full Moon today! It is the time when the sun’s rays fully illuminate the surface of the moon. The moon has no light of its own, and when the moon is shining at its brightest and fullest, we’re receiving maximum light and vitality as the sun’s rays bounce off of the lunar surface.

The full moon energy corresponds to the end of inhalation when the force of prana (inward moving energy) is greatest. This is an expansive, upward moving force that makes us feel energetic and emotional, but not well grounded. During the full moon we tend to be more headstrong. While the new moon energy corresponds to the end of exhalation when the force of apana(outward moving energy) is greatest. Apana is a contracting, downward moving force that makes us feel calm and grounded, but dense and disinclined towards physical exertion.

The full moon is the theme of energy fullness, richness, the highest point of the development process. But for those who are prone to overstimulation, whose mind is not stable, the full moon may be difficult crisis period. Our mind is so active this time, it is difficult to sleep, so the full moon could create additional difficulties for people suffering from insomnia.

Pay attention to the feelings whatever you have from today and embrace them as they are.

Retreat Agenda:

  1. Practice moon salutations. It honors the quiet yin energy in all of us and creates a perfect counter balance to our non-stop overactive lifestyles. Use the guide

  2. Enjoy light foods or light fasting today

  3. Take a moon bath. If you can, get outside and let the moonlight touch your skin. Just like our bodies need the Vitamin D from sunlight, we also benefit from moonlight. It’s said to help reduce inflammation and known support our menstrual cycles.

  4. Full moon meditations are a powerful way to tap the luminous lunar energy and harness the energetic power of the moon’s light.

Use the agenda to guide you today, but never feel bad if you won’t be able to follow. Have a few minutes to look at the moon, it’s already good enough.

May you be happy! May all beings be happy! See you tomorrow!
